LAUREN WALKER'S BIO

Lauren "Doriahna" Walker is a writer and a poet. She fell in love with writing at the age of eight. She is originally from Detroit, MI, and became a resident of East Point, GA, in 1989. Her poetry is focused on current and global issues; however, her writing style cannot be placed in any one genre. She educates her audience concerning relevant issues through her poetry. She is a known artist on the open-mic scene in Atlanta, Georgia and has covered over ten appearances on V-103 an Atlanta based radio station where she performed her poetry on "Poetic Moments" with host Joyce Littel. Lauren has also performed at various Atlanta venues including Starbucks (Cascade Rd), Mocha Match, Urban Grind, Javaology, JR. Crickets, SIP Coffee House, The Gathering Grounds, The Sanctuary, various Blog Talk Radio shows, and now, Hotwordz Lyrical Theater, Apache Cafe (FFX), Oxford College, Emory University, Georgia State University, Java Monkey, Charis Books, Seven Stages, and Javelins."...poetry is the language of the soul... the true vision of the artist should be to speak to the conscience of her audience -Lauren "Doriahna" Walker.
